Component repositioning
You can reposition a component in Lotus Notes 8 Beta, regardless of whether the "Allow user to
reposition component" option is enabled or disabled for that particular component. For example, if you
start Lotus Notes 8 Beta, open an application using the Composite Applications Editor, right-click on a
component in the editor, and open the Edit Component Properties dialog, you will see the "Allow user to
reposition component" option. Enabling or disabling this option has no effect; you will be able to reposition
the component regardless.
Lotus Notes
Composite applications open even if errors exist
The Notes 8 Beta client will open composite applications, even if they contain errors. There is currently no
preference check to determine whether or not to open composite applications that contain errors.
For example, a component in the composite application may be unavailable. When you open the
composite application you may see an old version of the component, a placeholder, or no component at
all. It is not always obvious that one or more components have not been properly provisioned. If needed,
you can close the application.
Domino Designer
DAP configuration settings impact what client displays
DAP (Domino Application Portlet) configuration settings (via browser/server), can impact the way
applications display on the Notes client.
Workaround
When entering the Configuration user interface for DAP, go to the Rich Client Configuration page and
make sure the following preferences are set as follows:
com.ibm.rcp.fastView false
com.ibm.rcp.fixed true
com.ibm.rcp.visible true

Linux: Cannot open Composite Application bookmark or URL link
On Lotus Notes for Linux, you may not be able to open a Composite Application from a bookmark or from
a link in a Notes document. The workaround is to open the application directly from the Ctrl+O dialog.
Alternatively, you may be able to open the Composite Application with a Firefox browser by copying the
URL into the browser.
In Lotus Notes, with the document in Edit mode, put the cursor anywhere within the link. Select
Hotspot->Hotspot Properties. Copy the URL in the Value field of the Hotspot Resource Link dialog.
Paste it in the browser. The browser will then attempt to open the application in Lotus Notes.

Problem encountered wiring components with ?OpenDatabase
In Composite Application Editor, you encounter problems wiring components with the ?OpenDatabase
command.
Workaround
Do not manually enter the URL with ?OpenDatabase. Use the Component Picker in the Composite
Application Editor to select the URL.
