Configuring a Microsoft Exchange 2003

Create a Windows account that has a Microsoft

Exchange 2003 mailbox

You must create a Windows account that has a Microsoft Exchange 2003 mailbox so that the Windows account can

authenticate with the Microsoft Exchange messaging server.

1. On any computer in the Windows domain, on the taskbar, click Start > Programs > Microsoft Exchange > Active

Directory Users and Computers.

2. Create an account that has the following attributes:

• Name: BESAdmin

• Group membership: Domain User

3. Create a Microsoft Exchange mailbox for the account.

4. To activate the new mailbox, send a test email message.

After you finish:

If you cannot see the Windows account in the Microsoft Active Directory to verify that you created it, log in to a computer

using the Windows account.

permissions for the Windows account (for example, BESAdmin) that you want to use to install the BlackBerry Enterprise

Server components.
